The focus of our program is to prepare students for higher education and eventual entrepreneurial careers in a wide variety of fields, since entrepreneurs are everywhere. An integral part of our program is participation in DECA, an international association of high school and college students studying marketing, management and entrepreneurship in business, finance, hospitality, and marketing sales and service. We also partner with Junior Achievement in a variety of projects throughout the four years. Students enjoy guest speakers, field trips, competitions, and a variety of student-led projects as they learn about business and develop their leadership skills.

Academy students operate The Spirit Spot, which is a 1200 sq. ft. retail store selling spirit wear, books for English classes, and healthy snacks. We have won DECA’s gold-level certification for school-based enterprises for the last five years and are the only school in Florida to earn this recognition.

Academy students who are completing the second semester of their third Academy course may qualify for membership in National Technical Honor Society. Inductees must possess an overall 3.0 GPA (unweighted) and a 3.5 in Entrepreneurship classes.

Current and former student entrepreneurs are featured regularly in Future CEO Stars magazine (selected articles, Field of Dream Homes).
